Join the Catskill Center’s Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP) Director, John Thompson, for a guided nature walk exploring the native plants and ecological communities of Callicoon Riverside Park.

Location: Callicoon Riverside Park, Creamery Road, Callicoon, NY 12723

Situated along the Delaware River, the park is home to a variety of interesting habitats and plant communities. While invasive species such as Japanese knotweed and common mugwort are widespread throughout the park, a surprising diversity of native plants continues to persist.

During this leisurely walk, we’ll explore some of these habitats, identify native plant species, and learn more about the ecological communities they call home.

Please come prepared with water, sturdy footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, and a hand lens if you have one. Hand lenses will also be available for participants to use.
