Help support healthy forests while learning how invasive species change throughout the year during this hands-on volunteer event with the Catskill Center's Catskill Regional Invasive Species Partnership (CRISP). Volunteers will work in an off-trail area to help install protective tree tubes around native saplings planted earlier this season to reduce deer browsing, while learning proper tool use and safety techniques from the CRISP team.

After the volunteer work, we'll spend the final 30 minutes exploring how invasive species look and behave throughout the seasons in the Catskills. You'll learn key identification characteristics of common invasive plants, why spring is one of the most effective times for removal, and how seasonal changes influence management strategies.

Frequent breaks are encouraged, and water and snacks will be provided. Please dress for work in areas that may include poison ivy, brambles, or ticks.

Registration is required. Please complete all volunteer forms prior to arrival. A limited number of copies will be available on site. All ages are welcome. Participants under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and those under 18 must have permission.
